Spiders' work

It's been foggy in my part of Staffordshire - though mild for December (IMHO).

The spiders don't seem to mind; and work away just as hard.  This web stretched over a couple of feet.

Tixall Church web

My photograph doesn’t show it as well as I’d hoped, but the thing you see in it that appears to be a piece of old hanging thin muslin rag, is in fact an enormous old spider’s web. It sways softly high up in the roof of Tixall Church.

It hangs just above the highest window in the west wall of the church. So it’s no surprise that the cleaner can’t get to it…

Spider vs moth

Spiders seem to be thriving in the continuing mild weather.
The sunshine means that even bees are still about - but the spiders seem to be mopping up the remaining moth population - if this web is much to go by.
