Memorial to "benevolent individuals"

This is a most unusual cemetery memorial, as it remembers no particular person, nor does it name any individuals of this group of "benevolent" people.

It's a memorial to all those who have donated body-parts after their deaths to the local university's School of Medicine.  The main campus of Keele University is just half-a-mile from this site, Newcastle-under-Lyme's new municipal cemetery.

It's maybe unique in its dedication. I'm not sure.

  1. That is interesting. I suppose it's not a named memorial so they don't have to incur further cost each time they would have to add a name.

Thank you for linking up with Cemetery Sunday

  2. Love the photo's, you gained a new follower.
I spotted a cadaver on a Scanner at Nottingham Uni when I went to do some work there back in the 1970's. The Scanner was a development one from the company I worked for though not what I went for.
